Cream Cheese Cake - Rose Bundt

So, my boyfriend bought me a rose shaped bundt pan, so what do I do...I make a cake. Yes, we all know, especially my friends from culinary school and Truffles that I am not a cake fan. However, having said that I am not a cake person, I d

o appreciate a great cake. Now, this is very simple and I loved the way it tasted. I over did the glaze, but hey, you can't be perfect all the time! Anyway, here is a great recipe:

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

2 Cups of flour

2 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

8 oz of cream cheese

1 cup of butter

1 ½ cups of sugar

4 eggs

1 ½ tsp grated orange zest

2 tsp orange juice

1 tsp vanilla

Powder sugar for dusting or you can use a glaze

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325

2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.

3. Cream together, cream cheese and butter until well blended. Add the sugar gradually till light and fluffy

4. Add eggs and mix together well until light and fluffy again.

5. Add orange zest, orange juice and vanilla.

6. Slowly add flour mixture. Mix until dough comes together.

7. Turn into a buttered bundt cake and bake for 1 hour. Mini-bundt cakes and cupcakes 30 minutes

8. Dust with powdered sugar or use glaze. (For cupcakes, frost with your chosen frosting)
